การใช้ Let

Let + Object (กรรม) + V1 แปลประมาณว่า ปล่อย(ให้)……

e.g.

• let me see (ให้ฉันดูหน่อย)
• let me do it (ปล่อยฉันทำ)
• I usually let the children stay late on Saturdays (ปกติฉันจะปล่อยให้เด็กๆ นอนดึกทุกๆ วันเสาร์)
• Let us pay (ให้พวกเราจ่ายเถอะ)
• let them go (ปล่อยพวกเขาไป)
• let him talk (ให้เขาพูด)
• let me be your hero (ให้ฉันเป็น hero ของเธอ)
• let it be (ปล่อยมันไป)
• I will let you know my schedules tomorrow (ฉันจะให้บอกคุณถึง ตารางเวลาฉันพรุ่งนี้)

Let + Object (กรรม) + preposition แปลประมาณว่า ปล่อย(ให้)……

* let go of – ปล่อย เช่น don’t let go of my hand – อย่าปล่อยมือฉันนะ

การใช้ Let’s

Let’s + V1 แปลประมาณว่า …..กันเถอะ

e.g.

• let’s do it (ทำกันเถอะ, เริ่มกันเถอะ)
• let’s go home (กลับบ้านกันเถอะ)
• Let’s forget about it (ลืมๆ มันไปเถอะ)
• Let’s call the police (โทรหาตำรวจกันเถอะ)
